Trouble Shooting the Laube Charger
Initial Steps and Inspection
To Avoid Electrical Shock: Always Unplug Any Appliance Before Inspection!
Before proceeding with any of the inital steps, inspect it for the warranty date (see warranty or call the Technical Support Line (805) 240-1313 ). Insert a Battery Pack into Battery Charger. Make sure that the switches are set to the "ON" and "HI" positions, otherwise the battery will not charge. If the LED does not light, then follow the next steps accordingly. Inspect the LBC (LAUBE BATTERY CHARGE) for damage due to droppage or misuse (broken circuit board, brokenswitch or circuit breaker, frayed cord, broken solder connections, loose male spring connectors, etc... ) and replace as needed. If the charger has male snap connectors, or the spring loaded adapter (ADPT), they should be cleaned. The male snap connectors should be replaced with Spring Connectors (part# 5220000001) and washers (part# 5220000001) to insure a good contact on all four connections. On the Battery Charger, make sure that the plastic at the base of the Battery Cradle has not melted or discolored and that none of the connectors are discolored due to heat from a bad connection or from Thermostat failure in the Battery Pack. If any trace is found, replace the Battery Charger Housing and any discolored connectors as well. Replace any bad Thermostats (part # 5300050000) or Cover Cap Assemblies (part # 5220000001) found on the Battery Pack.
